The Signs -14

"I have been studying the Islamic Scientific Counsel Database on board with your credentials", informed Wania the AI to the Traveller.

"Ok, so what are your observations so far", he calmly inquired her.

The Rock was decelerating at constant 1g towards Proxima Century, the 3rd red dwarf in the main Alpha Century Binary star System. The deceleration circuits were working with a component failure rate of once a week which was really bad. It was a constant 3D printing nightmare with parts being printed, and reprinted every day to manage the drive functioning. The parts were being damaged at an increasing rate as the time was going by. They were also exposed to the deep space radiation، which was especially harmful to the organic bodies, which meant that all outside work had to be performed by the robots alone. The Traveller was safe as long as he remained inside the confines of his cell.

He was grateful that AI storage and computation engine was safe inside a mil grade container. Till the time she was functioning, he had less to worry about all the basics as well as most of mission critical systems on board the Drive and life support systems on the Rock. She had already saved his life twice with her parallel processing capabilities.

"Islamic Scientific Counsel is looking after a lot of areas. They are tracking all the Major and Minor Signs of the End of the World to the best of their understanding, rest Allah and His Prophet (May the Peace and Blessings of Allah be Upon Him) knows best. Along with tracking all the NEOs (Near Earth Objects), the climate crisis, all the physical phenomenon which are harmful or a danger to life on Earth and ordering research projects for Human welfare especially based on Quran and Hadith", he patiently started explaining to her.

"It is a long list, I have to say, but tracking the signs is especially challanging, since many a signs are allegorical, and may mean anything depending on the understanding of the current state of knowledge and Allah's plan to reveal the knowledge to humanity, without his blessings, we can never understand the meanings of Quran and Hadith in its intended form", he went on.

"I think most of major Signs have already passed (1), or so it seems to me", she contemplated, pulling a tabular view of major signs in mid air using the Holographic Generator.

He looked carefully at each one sadly and slowly started his comparison, "Yes, we fought a lot amongst each other (1-1), but are at peace for now. The last Dajal came and was killed by Isa Ibn Maryam (1-2). The World is now so rich that wealth is abundant thanks to decades of peace and prosperity (1-a), but is corrupting us at the same time internally, slowly but surely, remember what Prophet feared for his Umma (1-b)".

"The ever increasing reliance on technology has hastened our life styles so much that the passage of time is ever faster (1-5). Hours feel like minutes and days flash by us, without any mental rest". He was looking out the window on the evening sun of his native Murree village.

"About the competition in tall buildings (1-9 ), the main issue is with Man's aspiration to become God, and challanging Allah's authority and boasting his own superiority. Thanks God, laws were passed to reduce the size of building near religious monuments, almost a sacrilege to them, in my humble opinion, otherwise we dwarfed them in comparison, creating a mental comparison between God and Man's work".

"Finally, so many wars have been fought, that by their end, people wished to be dead (1-7 & 10), however Allah's mercy is again with us, and the Muslim civilization is at it's peak in terms of stability, prosperity, knowledge and contribution to Humanity. If the ignorance spreads, the religious knowledge can be taken away eventually (1-3). I am sure it will be quite some time since we start to decay again and reach the lowest ebb, hence I see no reason to see the rise of Sun from the West in my life time, 1st of the final 3 signs , which will mark the actual end of the World". He became thoughtful and quiet after his long comparison.

"What about the afflictions (2)", she was curious about a major sign which had not been commented about, but was probably referred distinctly in a separate Hadith.

"In my humble view as a scientist, this sign referred to the atomic fallout and atomic wars. See the description, it perfectly fits the radiation hazard. Many wars were atomic in nature, including one fought between the old Pakistan and former India, which reduced their Army to ashes and gave a sad but sure victory to us".

"Yes, it surely broke the Indian Nation into its hundreds of states, finally making it insignificant as an international power." She was referring to the events leading to the last Indo-Pak battle, which could be categorized under these Hadith (3)(4).

"We can only speculate about the meaning of many of the signs, but surely the Words of the Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be Upon Him) have proved true very clearly in the lives of his companions. Remember the events he narrated about the conquests of the super powers of his time (5), it was a true miracle, narrated at a time, when there was no hope and sign to believe in his word, and yet Allah made his words into a reality beyond doubt".

"But remember that we reached this place after many ordeals, many hardships and many a trials", he was thoughtful.

"Remember the time before the Muslim Uma's Resurrection, we were scattered like autumn leaves, and there was so much strife that death was aplenty amongst us (6). We killed each other, loved the world and feared death(7). While others looked on, manipulated us, treated us like dirt, and prodded us, even helping and supporting us in fighting against each other, for centuries. Finally we awoke and the spirit of Islam took over."

"But will we continue on the same trajectory , or will we fall again? ", Her voice was eager with anticipation of the future.

"Everything going up has to come down one day, but for us Muslims, the rise and fall are always connected to our connection with Allah and his beloved Prophet (My Allah's Peace and Blessings be Upon Him)".

"The day Muslims will abandon Allah and his Beloved Prophet (My Allah's Peace and Blessings be Upon Him), we will fall back to the ways of the evil, and the world will fall into the last downward spiral. People will again abandon God" (8)(9).

"So what is a man of God to do then, if he finds himself in such a time?", Her face was radiant from the glow of setting sun coming from outside, the sky was very red, and the shadows were approaching fast, the onslaught of a long night.

"His duty is to leave the turmoil behind and spend his days in solitude (10) (11), or most probably, he will be spared the ordeal by Allah Almighty and will be lifted before the final hour (9), only the worst will face the wrath of Almighty", his eyes were again moist.

"It is so easy to appease Allah's anger, so much so that it takes only a single person remembering him (12) to save the whole world. Such is His mercy, and such is the power of the word of a true believer". He remembered and started off with his recitation of Darood on the Beloved Prophet.

The night had fallen, the room grew dark gradually. Wania slowly went out of the room.

I am not afraid that you will worship others along with Allah after my death, but I am afraid that you will fight with one another for the worldly things.

So whoever can find a place of protection or refuge from them, should take shelter in it.

(4) (Nasai-3175) It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) promised us that we would invade India. If I live to see that, I will sacrifice myself and my wealth. (5) (Muslim-7284) Nafi' b. Utba reported: We were with Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) in an expedition that there came a people to Allah's Apostle ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) from the direction of the west. They were dressed in woollen clothes and they stood near a hillock and they met him as Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) was sitting. I said to myself: Better go to them and stand between him and them that they may not attack him. Then I thought that perhaps there had been going on secret negotiation amongst them. I however, went to them and stood between them and him and I remember four of the words (on that occasion) which I repeat (on the fingers of my hand) that he (Allah's Messenger) said: You will attack Arabia and Allah will enable you to conquer it, then you would attack Persia and He would make you to conquer it. Then you would attack Rome and Allah will enable you to conquer it, then you would attack the Dajjal and Allah will enable you to conquer him. Nafi' said: Jabir, we thought that the Dajjal would appear after Rome (Syrian territory) would be conquered.

(6) (Muslim-7303) Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) as saying:By Him in Whose Hand is my life, a time would come when the murderer would not know why he has committed the murder, and the victim would not know why he has been killed.

(7) (Dawood- 4297) Narrated Thawban: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: The people will soon summon one another to attack you as people when eating invite others to share their dish. Someone asked: Will that be because of our small numbers at that time? He replied: No, you will be numerous at that time: but you will be scum and rubbish like that carried down by a torrent, and Allah will take fear of you from the breasts of your enemy and last enervation into your hearts. Someone asked: What is wahn (enervation). Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم: He replied: Love of the world and dislike of death.

(8) (Muslim-7298) Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) as saying:The Last Hour would not come until the women of the tribe of Daus would be seen going round Dhi al-Khalasa (for worship) and Dhi al-Khalasa is a place in Tabala, where there was a temple in which the people of the tribe of Daus used to worship the idol.

(9) (Muslim-7299) A'isha reported:I heard Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) as saying: The (system) of night and day would not end until the people have taken to the worship of Lat and 'Uzza. I said: Allah's Messenger, I think when Allah has revealed this verse: He it is Who has sent His Messenger with right guidance, and true religion, so that He may cause it to prevail upon all religions, though the polytheists are averse (to it) (ix. 33), it implies that (this promise) is going to be fulfilled. Thereupon he (Allah's Apostle) said: It would happen as Allah would like. Then Allah would send the sweet fragrant air by which everyone who has even a mustard grain of faith in Him would die and those only would survive who would have no goodness in them. And they would revert to the religion of their forefathers.

(10) (Bukhari-7088) Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri: Allah's Apostle said, There will come a time when the best property of a Muslim will be sheep which he will take to the tops of mountains and the places of rainfall so as to flee with his religion from the afflictions.

(12) (Tirmizi-2207) Anas narrated that the Messenger of Allah(s.a.w) said:The Hour will not be established until 'Allah, Allah is not said on the earth.

'Amr said to him (Mustaurid Qurashi): See what you are saying? He said: I say what I heard from Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ). Thereupon he said: If you say that, it is a fact for they have four qualities. They have the patience to undergo a trial and immediately restore themselves to sanity after trouble and attack again after flight. They (have the quality) of being good to the destitute and the orphans, to the weak and, fifthly, the good quality in them is that they put resistance against the oppression of kings.

He will fight the people for the cause of Islam. He will break the cross, kill swine, and abolish jizyah. Allah will perish all religions except Islam. Allah loves those whose righteousness and piety are hidden, those who, if they are absent, are not missed, and if they are present, they are not invited or acknowledged.
